Al-Najah Charitable Village: A charitable village whose light shines upon the displaced and the vulnerable
We are pleased to announce an important achievement for the Zamzam Foundation that embodies the values of humanity and solidarity: the opening of Al-Najat Charitable Village, a new haven of hope for displaced people who have faced harsh circumstances.
Al-Najat Charitable Village is located on the outskirts of the city of Hargeysa in Somaliland, in a carefully selected location to provide a safe and stable environment for its residents. The village comprises 50 housing units specially designed to meet the needs of families, with each unit consisting of three rooms, a kitchen, and a bathroom. These units are equipped with all essential basic services to ensure a decent quality of life.
The village facilities were not limited to housing alone; we were keen to provide for all aspects of daily life. We constructed a modern school to educate future generations, a mosque to foster spiritual values, a health center to offer essential medical care, a playground to provide space for recreation and physical activity, and agricultural facilities for training in agricultural production and acquiring new skills that contribute to improving livelihoods.
To provide job opportunities and support the local economy, we established a commercial market consisting of 22 shops. This initiative offers various job opportunities for villagers and contributes to stimulating commercial activity. The village also has an artesian well that supplies clean water, ensuring the health and safety of its residents.
The village was inaugurated in an official ceremony attended by senior officials, including the Minister of the Interior, the President of the Zamzam Foundation, Mr. Shuaib Abdullatif, and members of the delegation from the Al-Najat Charitable Society.
This achievement culminated in housing beneficiaries from displaced families who were selected based on specific and clear criteria, ensuring their eligibility for this assistance.
Believing in the importance of providing safe and stable housing for all displaced people, Al-Najat Charitable Society, the funding body for the project, has pledged to add 100 more housing units in the next stages to expand the scope of assistance and include more beneficiaries.
Al-Najat Charitable Village is a model that embodies the values of solidarity and interdependence, sending a message of hope to all displaced people that they are not alone. There are those who care about their suffering and strive to provide them with a decent life.
We thank everyone who contributed to the completion of this project, and we hope that this initiative will be the beginning of more charitable efforts that contribute to alleviating the suffering of the displaced and integrating them into society.
